The services you'll use most

After a vet, most pet owners in Thailand need a groomer, a reliable place to buy food, and someone to look after their pet when they travel. Bangkok has the widest choice — animal hospitals with grooming rooms, pet shop chains in the big malls, and independent salons near the main condo areas.

Outside Bangkok, animal hospitals and vet clinics often double as groomers and pet shops, and online delivery fills the gaps. Each service has its own guide with the businesses we have checked.

Going away?

Boarding, sitters or care at home

For trips away, compare a pet hotel with a sitter at home. Sociable dogs often enjoy a pet hotel with play areas; cats, older pets and anxious pets usually cope better at home.

Quick answers

Pet services in Thailand: FAQs

What pet services are available in Thailand?

In Bangkok and the main expat areas you will find groomers, pet shops and delivery services, pet sitters and dog walkers, dog trainers, pet hotels and pet taxis. Outside the cities, vet hospitals often provide grooming and boarding too.

Do animal hospitals in Thailand offer grooming and boarding?

Many do. Hospital groomers and boarding have a vet nearby, which suits older pets, pets with skin problems and pets on medication. See our grooming guide and pet hotels page.

Can I order pet food online in Thailand?

Yes. Lazada and Shopee deliver nationwide, and same-day apps cover the cities. Our pet shops guide compares the options.

How do I choose a pet service provider?

Visit first, ask about experience, hygiene and vaccination rules, check references, and agree prices in writing. Each of our service guides includes the questions to ask.

Is pet care cheaper outside Bangkok?

Often a little, but choice is smaller. In Phuket, Hua Hin and on the islands, vet hospitals and clinics usually handle grooming and boarding as well as medical care.

Are the businesses in your guides paid listings?

No. Listings are free and based on our own checks. Any featured partner is clearly labelled.
