Throughout our business guides, one theme keeps coming back: for a business that buys or sells across borders, the exchange rate and the safety of each payment matter as much as the price of the goods. Reported bank margins of 1% to 3.55% can cost US$10,000 to US$35,500 a year on every US$1 million of payments. The baht moved about 6% between September 2025 and July 2026. And the FBI recorded over US$3 billion of losses from business payment fraud in 2025.
A specialist FX and escrow partner addresses all three: competitive quoted rates on conversions, tools such as forward contracts to fix costs, and escrow to make sure money only moves when a deal is done. Vita Capital is our FX and escrow partner for exactly these needs. With offices in London and Dubai and a team with more than 20 years in foreign exchange, it offers "bespoke foreign exchange payment solutions" for corporate, private and institutional clients.
This profile explains what Vita Capital offers businesses — corporate FX, hedging, named accounts and escrow — how client money is protected, how it works alongside your Thai bank, who it suits and how to get started through JLIT.
The short answer
Vita Capital offers businesses corporate FX at quoted rates with fees included, hedging and risk management through forward and structured contracts, limit and stop-loss orders, named collection and settlement accounts, and corporate escrow for trade, business sales and online deals — with a dedicated relationship manager, market insights and alerts, and 24/7 execution tools and support. Client funds are held in segregated accounts, and escrow funds in regulated escrow accounts until release conditions are fulfilled. It works alongside your Thai bank, which still handles payroll, tax and local payments. Vita Capital is our FX and escrow partner; introductions are free through our enquiry form.

Why a specialist matters for Thai businesses
Thai banks are excellent for local banking, but currency is a specialist's business. Three reasons businesses add an FX and escrow partner:
The rate
Reported bank margins range from about 1% to 3.55%. On US$1 million a year of payments, that's US$10,000 to US$35,500 — money that goes straight to the bottom line if you get a better rate.
The tools
The baht moved about 6% between September 2025 and July 2026. Forward contracts, limit orders and stop-loss orders turn that uncertainty into planned costs — tools a dedicated FX provider is built around.
The protection
Business payment fraud and supplier failure are real risks. Escrow means money for a new supplier or a business purchase moves only when the deal is done.
A specialist with a named relationship manager brings all three together, and gets to know your business over time.
Corporate FX
At its simplest, corporate FX means converting currency for business payments and receipts at a better rate than a typical bank. Vita Capital quotes its rate up front, with fees included in the rate and no hidden charges, so you can compare it directly with your bank.
Typical uses
For businesses, Vita Capital handles the full range of international payments: paying overseas suppliers in US dollars, euros, yen, yuan and other currencies; receiving from overseas customers and converting foreign income into baht; and intercompany funding between a parent and a Thai subsidiary. It also covers dividends and loan repayments to owners and lenders abroad, and large one-off payments for equipment, property or acquisitions.
On regular payments, even a modest improvement in the rate adds up. Our guide to paying overseas suppliers shows where the costs lie.
Hedging and risk management
Vita Capital offers businesses hedging and risk management — tools to make costs and income predictable when exchange rates move. Forward contracts fix today's rate for a payment or receipt on a future date; our guide to forward contracts explains how they work. Structured contracts combine instruments to give protection with some ability to benefit from favourable moves — ask your relationship manager to explain any structure fully. Limit orders convert automatically if the market reaches your target rate, and stop-loss orders convert automatically if it moves against you, capping the downside. Market insights and alerts from Vita's market specialists help you time decisions.
Used together with a budget rate and a simple FX policy, these tools help keep margins on track. Our guides to managing FX exposure and FX budgeting explain how.
Named collection and settlement accounts
Named collection accounts let overseas customers pay your business in their own currency, into an account in your name, without an expensive international transfer on their side. You can then convert at a quoted rate and send the money to your Thai account — or hold it to pay foreign suppliers. Settlement accounts work the other way, for paying suppliers and partners abroad.
For a business with regular foreign-currency income, this can make invoicing simpler for customers, speed up receipts and give you control over when and how currency is converted. Our guide to international business payments to Thailand explains receiving options in more detail.

Corporate escrow

Vita Capital's escrow holds money with a neutral party until agreed conditions are met, in four steps: the parties agree terms; the buyer deposits funds into a secure escrow account; the seller delivers the goods, services or documents; and once the terms are confirmed, the funds are released. Funds are "held in regulated escrow accounts, protected until release conditions are fulfilled".
Escrow services for businesses
Vita's escrow covers four kinds of deal. Trade & Import/Export Escrow offers "safe international transactions between buyers and suppliers", released against shipping documents, inspections or delivery. Business Escrow safeguards payments in mergers, acquisitions and business sales, and Real Estate Escrow covers property transactions, including commercial premises. Online & Digital Escrow is for digital services, intellectual property and online sales.
Because the currency exchange can be handled in the same transaction, escrow and FX work together. Our guide to trade and import escrow explains release conditions in detail.
How client money is protected
Client funds are kept in segregated client accounts, separate from Vita Capital's own money, and escrow funds sit in regulated escrow accounts, protected until the release conditions are fulfilled. Payments are processed through established partners including Equals Connect, Ebury, Currencycloud and Sciopay. Identity and due-diligence checks are carried out when you open an account — some reviewers note these take time, which is part of keeping client money safe — and every trade and contract comes with a written confirmation.
As with any provider, protect your side too: verify any change of bank details by phone, use two approvers for large payments and keep your email secure.
Working alongside your Thai bank
A specialist FX partner doesn't replace your Thai bank — it complements it. In a common set-up, the Thai bank handles payroll, tax, social security, local suppliers and baht receipts; Thai banks charge modest fees on international payments — Krungsri, for example, ฿350 to send online and 0.25% (maximum ฿500) to receive. An FCD account at the same bank holds foreign currency. Vita Capital then handles the conversion of larger or regular amounts at quoted rates, fixing rates, named collection accounts and escrow.
Money converted by Vita Capital is paid to your Thai account or directly to your supplier. Our guide to opening business banking relationships in Thailand covers the bank side.

Buyers and sellers of businesses

A year with an FX and escrow partner
- Budget time — your relationship manager provides forward rates to help set a budget rate.
- Start of the year — forwards booked for the first months' confirmed payments.
- Every month — new orders hedged, limit orders set, supplier payments made at quoted rates.
- New supplier — first order placed through trade escrow, released on shipping documents.
- Each quarter — review of achieved rates against budget, and market outlook from Vita's specialists.
- Year end — results reviewed and next year's budget rate set.
Who Vita Capital suits
The service suits importers paying overseas suppliers regularly or in large amounts, and exporters and tourism businesses receiving foreign currency from customers and partners. It also suits foreign-owned subsidiaries moving funding, fees and dividends between Thailand and a parent, and any business with currency risk that wants forwards, rate orders and a budget rate. Businesses buying from new suppliers can use escrow for first and large orders, and buyers and sellers of businesses can use business escrow for acquisitions and sales.
For very small, occasional payments, an app or your bank may be simpler — and many businesses use both.
A simple comparison before you switch
The best way to judge any FX provider is with your own numbers. A quick exercise:
- Pick three recent payments — different sizes and currencies.
- Note what you actually paid — in baht, including all fees.
- Look up the mid-market rate — for the same day and time.
- Work out the cost — the difference between what you paid and the mid-market amount.
- Ask Vita Capital for a quote — on a similar payment today.
- Compare the costs — and multiply by your annual volume.
For many businesses, this simple test shows the margin on currency is one of their largest hidden costs — and one of the easiest to reduce.
Currencies and countries
Thai businesses trade most with China, Japan, Malaysia, Vietnam, Singapore and India among their free-trade-agreement partners, as well as with the US and Europe. Most cross-border business payments are in US dollars, with euros, yen and yuan also common. When you speak to your relationship manager, list every currency you pay or receive and the countries involved, so they can confirm which payments, collection accounts and hedging tools are available for each.
Getting started through JLIT
Getting started is straightforward. Contact our team through the enquiry form, by email at enquiries@ExpatFAA.com, on WhatsApp at +66 95636 1829 or on LINE at LAW007LU, and tell us what you need — currencies, typical amounts, frequency, and whether you need forwards or escrow. We'll introduce you to Vita Capital free of charge. Vita says account set-up takes only a few minutes; have company documents and directors' identification ready for the due-diligence checks. You'll then meet your relationship manager to discuss your payments, exposure and any escrow needs, and get your first quote to compare with your bank's rate.
What to have ready
To open an account, have your company documents ready — registration certificate, shareholder list and Memorandum and Articles — together with passports and proof of address for directors and major shareholders. Prepare a short description of your business, covering what you do and who you pay and get paid by, your expected volumes in currencies, amounts and frequency, and bank details for your Thai and any foreign accounts. For escrow, you'll also need the deal terms and the proposed release conditions.
What customers say
Vita Capital is rated 4.6 on Trustpilot from 21 reviews (October 2026). The rating is strong overall, and some reviewers note that the account-opening due-diligence checks take time — worth allowing for, especially before an urgent payment. With a relatively small number of reviews, it's sensible to judge the service on your own first quotes and experience.
Our relationship with Vita Capital
Vita Capital is JLIT's FX and escrow partner, and we have terms of business in place. When we introduce a business to Vita Capital, the introduction is free to you. We recommend Vita Capital because it offers the combination our business readers need most — competitive FX, hedging and escrow in one place, with a named contact — but we always encourage you to compare quotes and choose what suits your business.
Three real-world examples
These are illustrations, not real businesses.
A Bangkok importer
Paying about US$1 million a year to suppliers in China and Japan, the importer moved its conversions to Vita Capital, fixed the cost of confirmed orders with forwards and uses limit orders on the rest — keeping its margins and budget on track.
A Phuket hotel group
European tour operators pay into named collection accounts in euros and other currencies. The group converts at quoted rates and fixes part of the high season's receipts in advance.
A Chiang Mai manufacturer's first order
For a first order of machinery from a new supplier, the manufacturer used Vita Capital's trade escrow, with release on the bill of lading and inspection — and handled the currency conversion in the same transaction.
Questions to ask your relationship manager
When you speak to Vita Capital, ask what rate they can offer on your typical payments compared with your bank, which currencies they can pay and receive, and how they would hedge your exposure. Check whether deposits are required for forward contracts, whether customers can pay you into named collection accounts, and how escrow would work for your deals and what it costs. Finally, ask how your funds are protected and what market updates you'll receive.
Staying safe
Business payment fraud cost victims over US$3 billion in 2025, according to the FBI. Whoever you pay through, keep the essential habits: verify any change of bank details by phone on a number you already have, use two approvers for new payees and large payments, keep your email secure with two-factor authentication, and use a VPN on public Wi-Fi. Our guide to international supplier payment risk explains the warning signs.
How we compiled this profile
This profile is based on Vita Capital's published information about its corporate, private and escrow services, checked in October 2026; Trustpilot reviews (October 2026); a published review of retail bank margins (August 2026); Krungsri's International Payment tariff (effective 1 July 2026); Trading Economics on the baht; and the FBI IC3 2025 Annual Report. Vita Capital is JLIT's FX and escrow partner. Services and terms can change; confirm details with Vita Capital. This profile is general information, not financial advice.
Our verdict
For Thai businesses that pay or get paid across borders, Vita Capital brings together what matters most: competitive quoted rates with fees included, forward contracts and rate orders to protect margins, named collection accounts, and trade and business escrow — with a dedicated relationship manager and segregated client funds. Keep your Thai bank for local banking, use an app for small payments, and use Vita Capital for the payments that really move your profit.
