Israeli woman’s visa revoked after complaints on Koh Phangan

Authorities have revoked an Israeli woman’s visa following complaints about her behaviour on Koh Phangan in Surat Thani province, including allegations that she threatened people and refused to pay accommodation and national park fees.

Ensav Ashual, 33, was the subject of complaints reviewed by a local committee, Khaosod English reported in an account dated 22 October. The accusations concern her conduct towards officials and other people on the island.

Committee cites threats and unpaid fees

The committee accused Ashual of making threats of assault and using rude language. It also alleged that she had refused to pay for accommodation and entrance fees to Than Sadet–Ko Pha-ngan National Park.

These claims were presented as accusations by the committee. The supplied account did not include a response from Ashual.

The report also said she had worked on Koh Phangan as an art therapist and breathwork guide, among other occupations. It did not identify those activities as grounds for the visa revocation.

Local officials review complaints about foreigners

The committee that considered the complaints is chaired by Koh Phangan district chief Phaisit Thongjerm. Its members include tourist police and local administrative officials, and its remit covers complaints about foreigners on the island.

According to the report, Ashual is the third Israeli national on Koh Phangan to have her visa revoked this year. The account did not provide details of the other two cases or say whether they involved similar complaints.
