Tomorrowland Thailand prepares for December debut with spending forecast above THB5bn

The festival is scheduled for 11–13 December in Chonburi, with organisers forecasting more than THB5 billion in economic activity and warning ticket buyers about resale scams.

Tomorrowland Thailand is preparing for its debut in Chonburi on 11–13 December 2026, with its organiser expecting economic activity linked to the festival to exceed THB5 billion.

The three-day electronic dance music event will take place at Wisdom Valley in Khao Mai Kaeo subdistrict, Bang Lamung district. Rachata Thunyavuthi, an executive board member of organiser WEAREONE.WORLD (THAILAND) CO., LTD., outlined the preparations and spending forecast in a report published by The Nation.

According to Rachata, more than 50,000 tickets for each day sold out within an hour. The organiser reported demand from 196 countries, alongside longer expected visitor stays than it had initially anticipated.

Stage construction and festival plans

Stage structures and other on-site installations were more than 40% complete, with construction having begun on 15 October. More than 120 containers carrying structures had been shipped from Belgium to Thailand, and installation of some sections was under way.

The inaugural Thai edition is planned around the “Consciencia” concept, with six main stages exploring wonder, love, anger, joy, desire and sadness. A separate highlight, the CODEX stage, will feature Thai-inspired decoration resembling the gable of a traditional Thai house.

The full official line-up has yet to be announced. Food offerings are set to include Le Du Kaan by chef Thitid “Ton” Tassanakajohn and Gaggan Anand by chef Gaggan Anand.

The organiser is also placing particular emphasis on stage fire prevention following the fire at Tomorrowland in Belgium on 16 July 2025. Its preparations include the use of fire-resistant stage materials.

Longer stays underpin spending expectations

The forecast of more than THB5 billion concerns economic activity associated with the event, rather than festival ticket revenue alone. It remains an organiser projection ahead of the December debut.

Visitor data cited by the organiser indicate an average stay of seven days, compared with its initial expectation of three to four days. That longer stay is a key part of its expectation that festivalgoers will travel and spend beyond the event itself.

Tomorrowland’s website has offered 26,000 packages combining tickets, accommodation and transport, representing 13,000 hotel rooms. Those figures describe the packages offered, rather than a confirmed total of completed bookings.

Ticket resale warning and transport targets

For people still seeking tickets, the organiser has warned about scams involving electronic tickets edited to replace the registered holder’s name with a buyer’s name. It said numerous such cases had appeared on social media.

Attendees were required to register their full names on tickets by 25 October under the event’s anti-touting policy. Resales were not permitted, and the organiser said it could not intervene in resale transactions. It described a further name change as an exception for emergencies, such as accidents or other urgent circumstances.

Security plans include around 300 police officers around the grounds and 600–700 security guards inside, alongside police dogs and Tourist Police vehicles equipped with 360-degree cameras. More than 10 first-aid stations and more than 40 emergency ambulances are planned. The organiser has also specified that cannabis is strictly prohibited at the event.

With festivalgoers expected to spend long periods on site, from noon until midnight, departures are another major planning task. The traffic plan aims to clear visitors from the grounds and get them to their accommodation within 90–120 minutes. That is an operational target, not a confirmed journey time for individual attendees.
