Leave Friday. Come Back With a Story.
Ready-made short breaks across Thailand with the route, places to stay, worthwhile stops and bookable experiences already brought together — then opened in the JLIT Explorer so you can make the trip your own.
And it does not have to be a weekend. Change the dates in Thailand Explorer and turn any curated route into a midweek break, a longer escape or the trip that fits your own calendar.
Turn an idea into an actual route.
The weekend routes are built to remove the hardest part of planning. Open a trip and the core itinerary is already there: the journey from your starting city, sensible overnight stops, recommended hotels, things worth seeing and selected tours or experiences. Load it into the JLIT Thailand Explorer and use that plan as your starting point rather than beginning with a blank map.
You stay in control. Change the dates and travel midweek, add a day, remove a day, swap a hotel, change an experience, add another stop or take one away. When the route feels right, use it as your final itinerary and book each part of the trip from one organised plan instead of rebuilding the same weekend across multiple websites.
One place to discover the trip, understand the destination and build the weekend.
Weekend Trips is the short-break planning library inside Just Landed in Thailand. It is designed for the moment when you know you want to get away but do not want to spend hours comparing maps, hotel tabs, tour pages, transport options and destination blogs before you can work out whether a trip is realistic.
Start with where you are — Bangkok, Chiang Mai, Phuket, Pattaya, Hua Hin, Koh Samui, Krabi or Isaan — or start with the kind of weekend you want. The collection covers beaches, islands, mountains, heritage, food, markets, romance, family travel, adventure, road trips, rail escapes, budget breaks, luxury weekends and trips that still work in the rainy season.
Every completed JLIT weekend is more than a list of attractions. The editorial guide explains the place you are travelling to, why it is worth the journey, realistic travel times, what fits naturally into a Friday-to-Sunday break, where to stay and which experiences genuinely add something to the trip.
The route then connects that editorial advice to the interactive map. Recommended hotels and experiences are already attached to the itinerary, but they are recommendations, not restrictions. Couples can slow the pace down; families can shorten driving days; solo travellers can add activity; friends can build around nightlife or food; and longer-weekend travellers can simply add another day.

Start with the plan. Finish with your plan.
Choose a route
Pick a weekend by starting city or by travel style. Each completed guide gives you the destination context first, so you understand the journey rather than simply following pins on a map.
Open the itinerary
Load the trip into Thailand Explorer. The essential route, overnight areas, selected hotels, stops and relevant experiences are already connected so you can see how the weekend works geographically.
Change what does not suit you
Add or remove days, replace a hotel, skip a tour, add another attraction or change the pace. The itinerary is deliberately editable because a couple, a family and a solo traveller may want very different versions of the same weekend.
Keep everything together
Instead of researching one site for hotels, another for tours, another for attractions and another for route planning, JLIT keeps the trip structure together. Once you are happy, book the individual components and keep the finished route as the plan for the weekend.
Build more of the weekend around what you enjoy.
Your trip does not stop at the route. Jump into other Lifestyle collections for the evenings, meals and downtime around it.
Planning a short break in Thailand
What is included in a JLIT weekend trip?
A completed weekend combines a destination guide with a practical itinerary, realistic travel timing, suggested overnight areas or hotels, worthwhile stops and selected tours or experiences. Where the route is live, it can be opened directly in the JLIT Thailand Explorer.
Do I have to follow the itinerary exactly?
No. The route is a ready-made starting point. You can add or remove days, change hotels, replace experiences, skip stops and add places of your own before settling on the final itinerary.
Who are the weekend trips designed for?
They are designed for a broad mix of travellers: couples, solo travellers, friends, families, expats and visitors already travelling in Thailand. The trip-style collections make it easier to find routes suited to beaches, food, heritage, nature, romance, family travel, adventure, budget or luxury.
Can I start somewhere other than Bangkok?
Yes. Bangkok is the first completed start-city collection, with 13 curated weekends. The gateway also covers Chiang Mai, Phuket, Pattaya, Hua Hin, Koh Samui, Krabi and Isaan, with further routes added as those collections are completed.
Are hotels and tours already chosen?
Completed routes include recommended stays and selected experiences so you are not starting from scratch. They can still be changed. The purpose is to reduce research time while keeping the final decision with you.
Can I make a two-night trip longer?
Yes. The interactive route is designed to be adjustable. Add a night, create an extra stop or turn a standard weekend into a three- or four-night journey when the destination deserves more time.
How do I book the finished trip?
Use the final itinerary as your organised trip plan, then book the individual hotel, tour or experience components from their relevant booking actions. This keeps the planning in one place while allowing each component to be booked separately.
Does JLIT cover all of Thailand?
The collection is being built around Thailand’s main travel hubs and a wide range of destinations, from islands and beaches to historic towns, national parks and countryside escapes. New routes and start-city collections can be added without changing the way the planner works.
Be part of the journey.
Hotels, restaurants, attractions and local businesses can appear across the JLIT ecosystem where travellers are actively planning what to do next.
