Brighton top Premier League power rankings after 5-0 Palace win

Brighton’s fourth successive victory puts them ahead of unbeaten Manchester City in DAZN’s form-based rankings, while Arsenal take third place.
Brighton have taken top spot in DAZN’s latest Premier League power rankings after a 5-0 victory over Crystal Palace extended their winning run to four matches.
The Seagulls moved ahead of Manchester City in the matchday-seven assessment despite City winning all seven of their opening league fixtures. Arsenal occupy third place after beating Nottingham Forest 1-0.
The rankings are a form-based assessment rather than the official league standings, weighing recent performances, the strength of opponents and other factors. Only Premier League matches count towards the assessment.
Brighton’s attack sets the pace
The emphatic result against Palace strengthened Brighton’s case on both sides of the ball. They have the league’s most prolific attack and share the best defensive record with Arsenal.
That combination, alongside four consecutive wins, put them above a City side whose results remain perfect but whose latest victory was much tighter.
City beat Ipswich Town 3-2 at home to maintain their winning start. Ipswich stayed in contention until the final whistle, although the defeat was their third in five league matches.
Arsenal, meanwhile, recorded their second successive victory and sixth win in seven games. Forest offered little attacking threat, but the Gunners’ scoring return remains more modest than those of their immediate rivals: their 11 goals are the fewest among the league’s top four teams.
Liverpool end Brentford’s unbeaten start
Liverpool won 2-1 at Brentford, handing the hosts their first league defeat of the campaign. The result followed Liverpool’s three-goal loss to City two weeks earlier and gave them three wins from their past four league games.
Chelsea also built momentum, winning 2-0 at Everton for their second successive victory. Aston Villa’s 1-0 success at Newcastle extended their unbeaten sequence to three matches, including two wins.
Manchester United’s difficulties continued with a 1-1 draw at Leeds. United are now without a victory in five league games, while Leeds have lost only once this season.
First wins offer relief lower down
Tottenham secured their first league win of the season, while Bournemouth and Fulham also registered their opening victories.
Bournemouth beat Sunderland 2-0 to end a six-match winless start and a run of two consecutive defeats. Sunderland’s fourth straight loss also brought a red card for Kevin Danso.
Fulham edged Hull City 1-0. Newcastle, by contrast, suffered a second consecutive defeat, and Forest’s loss at Arsenal extended their losing run to three games.
For Brighton, the distinction is clear: City retain their flawless winning record, but the Seagulls’ combination of goals, defensive strength and recent results has earned them first place in this assessment of current form.
