Frequently Asked Questions
View all FAQs →Does my UK life insurance cover me in Thailand?
Not always. Many UK, US and EU insurers won't cover people living permanently abroad, or restrict cover. Check your policy terms and tell your insurer before you move.
How much life cover does a family need?
Enough to clear debts, replace income for the years your family would need it, and fund children's education. Many families need several times their annual income.
Should my life policy be written in trust?
Often yes. A trust can get the payout to your family quickly, outside your estate, and avoid delays in two countries.
Can I claim tax relief on life insurance in Thailand?
Thai tax residents can deduct life insurance premiums paid to Thai insurers, up to ฿100,000 a year combined with health premiums.
What is the difference between critical illness and income protection?
Critical illness pays a lump sum on diagnosis of a listed serious illness; income protection pays a regular income if you can't work.
Can someone help me choose cover?
Yes. We take leads for insurance — use the enquiry form and Lawrence will review your needs and introduce you to specialists, free.
