Frequently Asked Questions

View all FAQs →
What is the cheapest way to send money from the UK to Thailand?

For everyday sums, an online provider such as Wise. For larger sums — property, relocations, savings — get a quote from an FX specialist such as Vita Capital as well; on big amounts, a better rate matters far more than the fee.

Who is Vita Capital?

A London-based foreign exchange and escrow specialist, with an office in Dubai, offering spot trades, forward contracts, limit orders and escrow. It is JLIT's FX partner, and we can arrange a quote for you.

What is a forward contract?

An agreement to exchange currency at a fixed rate on a future date — useful when you know you'll need baht later, for example to complete a property purchase.

What is a limit order?

An instruction to convert automatically when the exchange rate reaches a target you set, so you don't have to watch the market.

How much does a 1% better rate save?

On £10,000 it's £100; on £100,000 it's £1,000. On large transfers, the rate is the biggest cost.
