Frequently Asked Questions
View all FAQs →What is the best way to save for school fees as an expat?
Usually a mix: a monthly plan or platform for long-term growth, a bond or platform for lump sums, and cash for the next year or two of fees.
Can I open a Junior ISA while living in Thailand?
Generally only in limited cases, such as Crown servants. An existing Junior ISA can usually stay in place.
Do I need life insurance if I am saving for school fees?
Ideally, yes. A plan only works if someone keeps paying into it — life cover in trust protects it.
Does JLIT sell insurance?
No. We take leads for insurance and introduce you to specialists who arrange cover for expat families.
How do I spot a bad savings plan?
Be wary of anyone who contacts you first, promises guaranteed returns or pressures you to sign a long contract quickly.
Can someone review our family finances for free?
Yes. Use the enquiry form on this page. Lawrence, a British expat in Thailand with more than 30 years in international finance, will come back to you by email, WhatsApp or LINE.
