Frequently Asked Questions

View all FAQs →
What are collectibles and specialist assets?

Physical assets such as whisky casks, art, fine wine, watches and classic cars that people buy for enjoyment and potential long-term value.

How have luxury collectibles performed?

Knight Frank's Luxury Investment Index rose 38.6% over ten years to the end of 2025. Over the latest year, Impressionist art rose 13.6% and watches 5.1%, while whisky eased 10.9%.

How does whisky cask ownership work?

Scotch must mature in an approved warehouse in Scotland. Your ownership should be registered with the warehouse, and duty is only paid when the whisky is bottled and released.

What does it cost to own collectibles?

Beyond the purchase price, there is usually storage, insurance and, when you sell, auction or dealer fees.

How do I avoid poor offers?

Be wary of cold calls and guaranteed returns, check prices with the distillery, auction houses or established dealers, and make sure ownership is properly recorded.

Can someone help me?
